GARVEY SPRINGS, SUNFISH POND, AND MOHICAN LOOP HIKE

10 miles. Meet at 11:00 AM in the Douglas Trail parking lot on Old Mines Rd. 3.9 miles N of I-80 in New Jersey. Take Route 80 west to the last exit in New Jersey (Millbrook/Flatbrookville). At bottom of ramp, turn right. This loop hike ascends about 1000 feet to the AT and follows the ridge along Sunfish Pond to Mohican before dipping back down to the valley. A strenuous hike (boulders, rocky trail), it has the rewards of a superb glacial pond and beautiful overlooks. Wear sturdy footwear; bring lunch, snacks, and plenty of water.
