Secondary meeting place 8:45 sharp in front of Pottery Barn at Shoppes at Brinton Lake 1 block from intersection of rts. 322 and 1. This is a beautiful hike that ascends through a gorge crossing a creek several times; suggest dry socks just in case. Pink lady slippers are in bloom. This loop hike ascends first to a lovely sand spring with bubbling water and then to the Appalachian Trail and finally to the Eagle’s Nest trail with a nice overlook.  This challenging hike is on rocky trail, and there are stream crossings that may involve wet feet.  Not for the first-time hiker; wear sturdy footwear and bring lunch and plenty of water. No cost for this PA/DNCR hiking week activity. Leader: Carol Thompson, ct1643@gmail.com.
