DARLINGTON ROAD TO COLONIAL PLANTATION (Note: Date Changed)

  • 23 Mar 2014
  • 8:45 AM
  • Middletown Township, Delaware County, PA 19037
10-12 miles. Meet 8:45 AM at State and Orange Streets in Media, endpoint of the 101 trolley. Trolley arrives at 8:32. This is a shuttle hike, so we'll need cars. Please contact me by Friday, March 21 if you can help. If meeting at trailhead, please contact me for info and directions. We'll start hiking at Darlington Road after setting cars at Colonial Plantation. We'll follow the Middletown Trails, enter Ridley Creek State Park, and follow a variety of trails, including the Fisherman's Trail, to Colonial Plantation.Bring lunch, water and boots. Some muddy, wet areas. Cost $1.00. Leader: Abbie Wysor, 610-565-9618, Day of hike: 610-742-5967, john-abbie@verizon.net. NOTE: THIS HIKE WAS ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 13. THE HORSESHOE TRAIL HIKE, ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED FOR MARCH 23, WILL HAPPEN ON APRIL 13. DEEP (6-8 INCHES) SNOW STILL ON TRAILS IN CHESTER COUNTY MAKES HIKING THERE ON MARCH 23 UNLIKELY. THE MIDDLETOWN TRAILS ARE PASSABLE NOW (MARCH 9) AND SHOULD BE JUST FINE BY MARCH 23.
