5 miles. Ocean City, NJ. September, with the crowds gone but still comfortable water temps, is a great time for hiking and swimming at the shore. Although most of the hike will be on sand, some will be a road walk. Bring lunch, water, and sunscreen. Rain cancels. Depart Broad and Red Bank CVS parking lot, Woodbury, NJ @ 9:15 AM (NJ Transit Bus 410 leaves Philadelphia Broad and Vine @ 8:30, arriving Woodbury @ 9:13, 70 miles from trailhead.)
