  • 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
  • Red Lion Diner, 1753-Route 206, Southampton, NJ

This hike has been cancelled.

Meet at 10:00 AM sharp at Red Lion Diner, Routes 206 and 70 off the circle, Southampton, NJ 08088 at 10:00 AM.  Park on the west side of the diner. Please be early so work assignments can be given out in time for the 10:00 AM departure. If anyone needs transportation, the best option is to post your need on Meetup: www.meetup.com/Batona-Hiking-Club/. Please also check both Meetup and the Batona website: batona.wildapricot.org about a week before for a possible meeting place change if the area of work warrants a change. This year’s work trip will involve the usual cutting, trimming and trash collection on Batona’s part of the trail from Ong’s Hat to Carranza. Batona will provide the tools or you can use your own. Hiking boots and work gloves recommended. Bring lunch and drink. Since opening in 1961 as a 30 mile trail, Batona has become a well used part of New Jersey’s trail system. With the help of volunteers like you, the trail has grown to over 50 miles long. No cost. Leader: Milt Cannan, 609-536-8205;
