-8 miles. ChesLen Preserve is part of the original King Ranch property and is now in the National Lands Trust. Be prepared to enjoy open meadows and woodlands of this beautiful preserve. For those using public transportation, take SEPTA 101 trolley from 69th Street to the Springfield Mall stop and meet leader here at 8:25 AM. For those driving, meet at 8:30 a.m. in front of Macy’s (park under trees next to Baltimore Pike). If driving to trailhead, meet leader at 9:30 AM at preserve office parking area at 1199 Cannery Road (39.921011, -75.725152). *** If the weather forecast is unfavorable, call leader or check Batona Meetup to confirm if the hike will take place before driving out to the trailhead.
