Challenging ascent on rocky footing to hike the ridge on the Appalachian Trail, climb over a mile of boulders with 360° views at the top, and switchback down the mountain with panoramic vistas along the way. Elevation gain of 1869 feet. Depart G & R at 8:00 AM (60 miles to the trailhead) or meet at 9:30 AM at Lehigh Gap Nature Center, 8844 Paint Mill Rd, Slatington, PA 18080. If meeting at the trailhead, please contact leader to confirm by the evening before the hike. Hiking boots recommended. Hiking poles suggested. Bring 2 liters of water plus lunch and snacks to stay energized. Cost: $1.00. If carpooling please share driving expenses, $0.10 per mile plus tolls round trip.
