10 miles. If using public transportation, take SEPTA 101 trolley from 69th Street to Springfield Mall stop and meet leader here at 9:25 AM (25 miles to trailhead). If driving, meet at 9:30 AM in front of Macy's at Springfield Mall and park under trees next to Baltimore Pike. For directions to trailhead, contact leader. We'll cover well-shaded trails through varied terrain, on both sides of the Brandywine Creek and along Rocky Run, as we make a series of loops through this beautiful park.  Hiking boots recommended. Bring lunch and water. Cost: $1.00. Leader: Abbie Wysor, 610-742-5967, abbiewysor@gmail.com.

For those wishing to meet the group at the trailhead: GPS coordinates are 39.834133,-75.575542.

To get to the trailhead if you don't do GPS coordinates: Find the intersection of Routes 1 and 202 on a map. Smithbridge Road crosses Rt 202 just a short distance east of Rt 1. Go south on Smithbridge Road toward Delaware. Turn left just before the covered bridge onto Brandywine Creek Road. Just past where Beaver Dam Road comes in on your left, you will see a parking lot on your right between the road and the creek. Park at the further end (where it's shadier in the afternoon). I expect to arrive at the trailhead around 10:15. The hike will start by 10:30.
