14 miles. For those using public transportation, take SEPTA 101 trolley from 69th Street to the Springfield Mall stop and meet leader here at 8:25 AM. For those driving, meet at 8:30 a.m. in front of Macy’s (park under trees next to Baltimore Pike). There is a 23 mile drive to the trailhead. Please contact leader if you wish to meet at the trailhead. Explore this beautiful, recently opened preserve, with its varied terrain and ecology. Located near the Laurels, this property was also part of King Ranch. Parts of the preserve strongly resemble our traditional King Ranch hike. Some muddy, wet areas.
