8-10 miles. Meet at the parking area on the west side of Appleton Rd. (at Black Bridge Road) in MD (39.714310, -75.822240) at 10:30 AM SHARP for start of hike. Go about 1¼ miles west of the DE border into MD on Rt. 273 and turn right at the traffic light onto Appleton Rd., then a little over a mile to Black Bridge Rd. on the left. For anyone needing transportation the best option is to post your need on the Batona meetup site - http://www.meetup.com/Batona-Hiking-Club/. We will explore this 5600+ acre natural area in the northeast corner of MD which has about 80 miles of trails and includes a varied terrain of hills, fields, woods and streams much like Buck & Doe.
