THIS HIKE IS CANCELLED DUE TO FORECAST OF INCLEMENT WEATHER
8-9 miles. Depart from parking lot on corner of Walnut Lane & Magdalena St. in Philly opposite the golf course building (1 block east of Henry Ave. & Walnut La.) at 9:30 AM. SEPTA bus #32 runs along Henry Ave. and bus #65 runs along Walnut La. Check SEPTA for maps and schedules. Be aware that due to construction, Walnut Lane Bridge is closed east of the meeting place. This does not affect traffic on Henry, Ridge, or west on Walnut Lane. Easy pace hike of 2.5 mph or less (leader likes to stop & share his knowledge of interesting places along the way). We will see Walnut Lane Bridge (from both ends), Historic Rittenhouse Towne, and 'Toleration' Statue, and if we have time, 'Fingerspan.’ We will have lunch near Livezey House and take an afternoon break at Valley Green Inn. One small stream crossing before we get to Valley Green. Bring lunch and beverage. A hiking stick, sturdy hiking boots, and rain jacket are all good ideas. Bad weather may postpone or cancel.
