7 miles. Depart Ply. Mtg. promptly at 9:00 AM (60 miles to trailhead). NOTE: If taking SEPTA to Ply. Mtg., the bus stop is a 10 minute walk to Macy’s parking lot facing Germantown Pike. See the unusual Sand Spring near Shartlesville, PA on this fall color loop hike. We will stop for lunch at an AT shelter where thru-hikers have left their travel logs. Sections of the trail are rocky as we have a modest 600' streamside climb to reach the AT. An optional stop at one of the local wineries is possible on the way home. Bring lunch and water.
