7.7 miles. Meet at the clubhouse of York Hiking Club, 1145 Furnace Road Airville, PA. at 10:30AM. Be prepared for an 85 mile drive from Philadelphia (approximately 2 hours). Please join the York club for an unforgettable loop hike on the Mason Dixon Trail. It includes two walks along beautiful Otter Creek separated by a 300' climb to an expansive view of the Susquehanna from Urey Overlook where you may get to see a bald eagle or two. After two more climbs (200' & 300') through the state game lands, we will descend to Sawmill Run, follow that to the Susquehanna, and back to our starting point. This is a moderate hike with some ascents (all of which are switchbacks) so bring along your trekking poles. Do not forget your boots, lunch and water.
