Due to a prediction of extreme cold, snow, and high winds, this hike is canceled for Sunday, 2/15/15. Milt has rescheduled the same hike for Saturday, 2/21/15. All of the details remain the same, including transportation arrangements should some one want to carpool from the Woodcrest Station.
8 to10 miles. Meet at the Atlantic County Parks – Estell Manor Nature Center on NJ Rt. 50 (about 3 1/2 miles south of May’s Landing) at 10:30 AM SHARP for start of hike. Call Peter at 609-442-5830 to make arrangements to meet at the PATCO Woodcrest station We’ll explore this 1,700 acre park bordered on the east by the South and Great Harbor Rivers and on the west by Rt. 50. This Atlantic County Park has an extensive trail network with a couple miles of boardwalk through the real swampy areas. The nature center has exhibits and a lot of information on the area.
